The McCall-Deats Duo
Jan Deats and Alvin McCall have been performing together since 1975. The McCall-Deats Duo was formed in 1985 when they started a recital and chamber music series in Nyack, New York. They now perform at the Rockland Conservatory several times a year. The Duo has also performed in the master classes of Menahem Pressler, of the famed Beaux Arts Trio, both at Steinway Hall in New York City, and at the Adamant Music School near Montpelier, Vermont.
The Duo's performances have taken them from the concert halls of New York City, including Carnegie's Weill Hall, and around the country to Virginia, North Carolina, Wisconsin and Missouri. Their European engagements have included concerts in Konstanz and Dusseldorf, Germany. Concerts for peace have been sponsored by the Fellowship of Reconciliation in California and Oregon and at the Triennial Council of the International Fellowship of Reconciliation in Cassagnes-Begonhes, France. Alvin McCall is a cellist with the St. Louis Orchestra.
